Festival (506), Music•Musique NB's annual celebration of homegrown talent, will take place for the first time in northeastern New Brunswick. The migrating festival will present its 12th edition in Caraquet, October 11 to 14, 2018.
"We are extremely happy to invite the whole music industry to the Acadian Peninsula," says Véronique Wade, president of the MNB Board of directors. "We are also very keen for this opportunity to strengthen ties between the Anglophone and Francophone musical communities." The 2018 edition will mark the 20th anniversary of the creation of Music•Musique NB, which was originally called the New Brunswick Music Industries Association.
"We are extremely proud to be the Host City for the 2018 edition of Festival (506)!’" mentions M. Kevin J. Haché, mayor of Caraquet. "Our city is notable its skill in handling larger events, and we are confident that Festival (506) will be a great success. We are looking forward to welcome music fans from everywhere and introduce them to our corner of the world."
Festival (506)’s schedule includes four days of public concerts, conferences geared to musicians and music industry professionals, an Awards Show celebrating New Brunswick’s musical talents, as well as a Youth component called “dB Program” which gives artists aged 13 to 18 mentoring and performance opportunities. This year, Festival (506) is taking place in Moncton, from October 12 to 15 2017. Passports are on sale now at: http://mnb506.brownpapertickets.com/
