Genre(s):

Freya Milliken is a multitalented Canadian singer-songwriter and a recent graduate of the School of Music at Acadia University. Originally from Dorchester, New Brunswick, Freya has always appreciated small town life and found a home in Wolfville, Nova Scotia during her undergraduate studies, where she is now based. Since 2021, Freya has been gaining momentum on the maritime festival scene, capturing the hearts of audiences of all ages and establishing herself as an emerging musician on the East Coast. Freya's music is often complimented for its thoughtfulness, combining perceptive lyrics with heartfelt melodies and tasteful accompaniments on guitar.

Her sensitive and gentle nature is a key element in the creation of her songs, "with a chills-inducing quality to her voice" (Heidi-Lyn O'Connor, "8 NB Artists to Watch For!" Music NB Blog), which describe the human experience. Her latest single, "Wholeheartedly," is lush with strings, vocal harmonies, and yearning-like melodies that convey weariness from unrequited love in search of intimacy. Since its release in April 2023, "Wholeheartedly" has been featured on CBC several times, including spins by Information Morning (Jonna Brewer), Weekend Mornings (Bill Roach), and Mainstreet (Jeff Douglas). It is the title track of her debut EP, which can be expected in fall 2023.
