Free to Grow (FTG) was formed in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada in 2014 and first performed live in September 2014. Founder Jeff Patch created the band to be a vehicle to perform and record his compositions. Free to Grow plays original music fashioned after 70’s Classic and Progressive Rock. Since 2014 FTG has released four studio albums and one live album. Currently FTG is working on a fifth studio album for release in 2025. Since 2014 the band has played over 50 shows throughout New Brunswick including in Fredericton, Saint John, Gagetown, Oromocto, Sussex, Ripples, Saint Andrews, Moncton, Miramichi and Bathurst.

Free to Grow music has received critical acclaim and airplay locally, regionally and internationally; with songs charting on radio stations in Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, South Africa, Australia and the United States. In 2015, FTG won the prestigious Stingray Rising Star award at the 25th Annual Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick. In 2023, Jeff won the JL Music Composer Award.
