Carleton Stone has worked diligently to develop the reputation of a songwriter that can deliver. In 2010, Stone attended the inaugural Gordie Sampson Songcamp. The following year he was asked to return as an instructor – a role in which he continued until the wrap-up of Songcamp in 2019. A talented songwriter and a teacher by trade, Carleton has successfully and generously mentored dozens of songwriters in the years since, becoming a fixture in songwriting camps across the east coast and as far away as Germany.
Already an established solo artist with two award-winning records to his credit, Carleton, along with longtime friends and collaborators Dylan Guthro and Breagh MacKinnon, formed the band Port Cities in 2015. The trio’s Gordie Sampson produced debut garnered multiple awards and the band toured non-stop internationally for the next four years.
With a well-rounded knowledge of the music business, Carleton took on the role of delivering Music Nova Scotia ‘Basic Training’
