I want to apply for a Prix MNB Award. What do I do??

FOR MUSIC AWARDS (Aboriginal Recording, Album, Emerging Artist, Solo/Group Recording, SOCAN Song, Cover Band, Video, and/or Genre)

1. Go here.
2. Read the checklist of things you'll need to complete the application form. Although you should be able to save and complete your form at your own pace, it's not a bad idea to compile all the info in one document, to copy and paste.
3. Fill out your name & email, and confirm that you have read the Eligibility Criteria and that you are a member of Music•Music NB (or, if you are applying for someone else, that the candidate is a member.)

Note about the email: If you are doing multiple applications for different artists, you will need a different email for each application. Fortunately, most email providers will let you add +alias before the '@'.

You are a manager and you need to fill out forms for your two bands, Potato/Potato and The Rotorkrieg. You can use your regular email address (info @ email.com) and create two unique email addresses (which will all go to your regular mailbox): info+potato @ email.com and info+rotorkrieg @ email.com

Note about your MNB Profile: Jurors WILL look at it to check out your social media and your web presence. Take a few minutes to give it a good shine!

4. Click "I'm Ready".
5. A new page will open and you should receive an email with your unique link (to go back to your form at any time before submission).
6. Select all the Music Awards you are applying for. There is no extra cost to apply to multiple awards.
7. Read the instructions carefully and provide all the requested info.

#protip: Assume that the jurors know absolutely nothing about you and make your case why you think you are deserving of this particular award.

8. Once you are done and you are happy about your application, pay $20 and click 'Submit'.

FOR INDUSTRY AWARDS (Collaborative musician, Educator, Event/Festival, Expat Artist, Music Business, Music Industry Professional, Music Producer, Venue and/or Visual Artist)

1. Go here.
2. Read the checklist of things you'll need to complete the application form. Although you should be able to save and complete your form at your own pace, it's not a bad idea to compile all the info in one document, to copy and paste.

I want to apply for a Music Award AND an Industry Award. What do I do??

You will need to fill out both forms separately, since the Industry categories require very specific info. You will need to pay the application fee for both forms.

However, if you are applying for Collaborative musician, Educator, Music Industry Professional, Music Producer, and/or Visual Artist, you can ask to be reimbursed (if the candidate for the Music Award and the Industry Awards is the same person). If you are applying for Event/Festival, Music Business, and/or Venue, those categories are businesses, not individuals, and the application fee stands.

If you are applying for Expat Artist, you are not eligible for the other Music Award categories, since there is a requirement of NB residency.

I want to apply for a Showcase. What do I do??

Start by reading the FAQ  and then fill out this form. Showcase applications are $20. Selected showcase artists will be contacted in June.

Wait! I have more questions!

I finished my application and I’m ready to submit it. What do I do??

Are you sure you attached all the required documents and music?? Really, really sure?

Yes, I’m sure! Stop nagging!

On the last page of the application, you'll see a 'Submit' button. Click on it... if you sure... No take backs!

Oh $?#@! I forgot I wanted to also apply to another category!

See above. Call Dawn (506.383.4662), beg for forgiveness, and promise never to do it again. She might be able to help you out this time...

I don’t understand XYZ. What do I do??

Step 1: Read the form again and the Eligibility Guide. You will be mocked if your answer is there. We'll be nice about it, but you'll still be mocked.
Step 2: If you have a technical question (your file isn’t uploading, the submit button isn’t working, your screen has fallen and it can’t get up), contact the MNB Team (contact@musicnb.org).
Step 3: If you have an Award Eligibility question (your recording was only released on 8-track, your dog ate your original album cover art), contact the MNB Team (contact@musicnb.org). They do everything, those guys!
