David Myles (he/il) will host the 2021 PRIX MNB AWARDS, taking place at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre (Fredericton), on October 21 at 8 pm. For a second year in a row, the event will be live-streamed on Facebook, with no public present in the Jim Myles Auditorium.
The evening celebrates a year in the New Brunswick music scene and will showcase performances by Pokuhulakon Witsehkehsu : Sisters of the Drum, Colin Fowlie, Cédric Vieno, Wolf Castle, as well as a collaboration between Acadian singer-songwriter Chloé Breault and string duo Pallmer.
Twelve awards will be presented to artists and industry professionals who have made their mark on the music industry in the past year. The award show will be produced by Stephen Lewis and Jason Merrill of Marshall Studios.
A FESTIVAL (506), FOR THE INDUSTRY ONLY
While the Music•Musique NB's Board of Directors had stayed hopeful it would be possible to present the artist showcases in front of an audience, it was deemed more prudent to cancel the public part of the event.
Showcases will be filmed, edited and presented to local, national and international buyers during Conference (506), an online-and-industry-only event, taking place November 18-20.
