As part of our Industry Pathways - Expert Access program, Music·Musique NB is pleased to offer Project Soundcheck training for our live music sector.
Project Soundcheck is a prevention initiative, aimed at giving festivals, venues & communities the skills and training to prevent and respond to sexual violence in live music spaces. By reducing bystander apathy and training industry professionals to intervene when seeing harmful behaviour, we can foster safer spaces in our music industry.
“I first took the training a few years ago, and it changed the way I bartend, perform, and work at festivals. I see things I didn’t notice before, and feel confident to intervene when I see potential danger. The more people with the training, the safer our live music spaces will be.” - Penelope Stevens, Industry Pathways Program Manager
The training, presented by Sexual Violence NB, will be offered FREE to any live music worker (including artists and performers, venue staff, festival organizers, audio/lighting technicians, security guards, or anyone that works in live music settings).
The training will happen online on February 21st (details below). Space is limited. Up to 5 staff members from a single organization may participate.
