Legendary New Brunswick songwriter has a new album coming!! 

Produced by JUNO winner Catherine MacLellan and featuring Ray Legere, Jon Arsenault, Ivan Rosenberg, Terra Spencer, Rich Knox, Mark Westberg and Carlie Howell, the new record may be the best writing of Thomas' 30+ year career. Inspired by the spareness of "Nebraska", Thomas and MacLellan have crafted a beautiful songwriter's record heavy on Candiana. The first single, "A River Runs Through" released in September is already a hit with streaming and campus/community radio and the mass appeal uptempo second single, "The Way We Roll" is sure to follow. The full album will drop on May 1/2025 and Thomas and the sessiommen will tour North America heavily in support, beginning with 6 invited showcases, including one for Folk Music Canada, at NERFA (Northeast Regional Folk Alliance) in Portland, Maine, Nov 20-24, 2024.

Robert Thomas has crafted songs for legends including, Kenny Rogers, Bonnie Raitt and the Chicks, and his live performances are becoming legendary with 74 consecutive standing ovations in Canada and the US to date. As a staff writer for music publishing, Thomas was tasked with writing hits and his deep, diverse repertoire reflects that. Each of his songs is distinct and memorable from ear-worm up-tempo sing along hand clappers to laser focused political commentary and arresting, break out the Kleenex mass appeal ballads, all delivered in an easy repartee with his audiences. Performing with his legendary band, the sessionmen - Ray Legere [fiddle and mandolin] and Jon Arsenault [guitar, percussion, keyboards and backing vocals], Robert Thomas and the session men are one of the rare acts you don't not want to miss - Simply put - “These boys know what they’re doing.” - Rodney Crowell.
