The Red Herring is a St Andrews NB based live music venue that offers performance opportunities to musicians from New Brunswick, the rest of Atlantic Canada and beyond. The Herring and its presdecessor The Tidal Pool have hosted thousands of bands since 1998. Live music has been heard within its walls on Mondays, Wednesday's, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year. The venue is also associated with Paddlefest held every May in St. Andrews and Winter Warmer held in January. All performers are offered a guarantee, negotiated with the venue's booker. No cover charge is levied on patrons. The venue has in house sound (basic set up) and lights.
