Sonic Detour

Indie, Métal, Rock
Rôle:

Blending the aggression of metal, the energy of nu metal, and the sour rawness of punk rock. Their self-titled debut EP, full of jagged guitar riffs and infectious hooks, stretches the limits of genre while navigating seamlessly through songs that can be unapologetically ferocious, brazenly provocative, and sometimes even heartfelt. Sonic Detour started a sextet consisting of three childhood friends, Jeff Andrusyk (drums), Andrew Clifford (guitar), and Jason Crowley (bass), along with Marcus Marcial (lead guitar), Goose Jenkly (vocals), and Joshua Paul (DJ), known publically as DJ J. Demi. The band has changed slightly since their inception.  Andrew has stepped down to continue his personal growth as we'll as take care of his family. We still love our brother and wish him the best.  But with every dying rose we search for new buds. We recruited Nikki Cook to play guitar and his high energy, added vocals  and contagious emotion has transformed us into a high octane driving force. DJ J-Demi has built himself quite the name around town as one of the top DJs. He will be pursuing his solo career for a while as well as performing at some of our live shows.  "How could we be mad when our homie is making it happen?!" After playing a number of live shows in late 2019 and early 2020, the band used the downtime brought on by the pandemic to record their seven song, debut EP, released on October 3, 2020, which has gone on to be nominated for a 2021 ECMA (Loud Recording of the Year). The band has also been nominated for three 2020 Best of Saint John Music Awards: Best New Band, Best Song (Breathe Out), and Best Music Video (Rise Up, winner). Meanwhile, the song Breathe Out spent several weeks on CIOE 97.5 Community Radio's Top 30 chart, based in Sackville, N.S., ultimately reaching #4. Currently, Sonic Detour is aggressively promoting their self-titled EP, both online and live, while also fine-tuning the material that will follow it later this year. The EP is available on CD and can be found on all major streaming platforms. Official Sonic Detour Apparel, along with all other Sonic Detour merchandise, is available at www.sonicdetour.ca
